How to Retry a Failed AI Creation Without Losing Credits

AI creation doesn't always succeed on the first try. Sometimes the photo isn't quite right, or a temporary service issue interrupts the process. The good news: Homture automatically returns your credits whenever a creation fails — you never lose them.

This guide explains every failure scenario, what each message means, and how to retry safely.

Credits Are Always Returned on Failure

This is the most important thing to know: if an AI creation fails for any reason, your credits come back automatically. You'll see a confirmation message so you know they've been returned before you do anything else.

The message also links to good photo examples for the template you used. This is the best starting point for understanding what went wrong.

How to Retry

  1. Read the failure message and tap "See good photo examples" to understand what the template needs
  2. Go back and select a better photo — one that matches the template requirements
  3. Tap Retry to start a new creation
Important: Retry Deletes Your Current Result The app will warn you: "Clicking 'Retry' will DELETE YOUR CURRENT RESULT and generate a new one." If you have a result you want to keep — even a partial one — save or send it before retrying.

The Last Retry Warning

If you've already retried once, you may see: "This is your last retry." At this point, choose your photo very carefully. Review the good photo examples one more time and make sure your new photo meets all the requirements before tapping Retry.

Make Your Last Retry Count Before using your last retry, check: Is the face clear and front-facing? Is the lighting good? Does the subject count match the template? A few seconds of review can make the difference.

Service Errors

Sometimes the failure isn't about your photo — it's a temporary issue on Homture's end. In that case, you'll see:

"Oops... Something went wrong. Creation stopped. We've returned the credits you spent."

Your credits are returned automatically. Simply wait a few minutes and try again with the same photo.

Reached the Creation Limit

During peak times, you may see one of these messages:

  • "Oops, you've reached your maximum creation limit."
  • "Our magic's in high demand at the moment!"

In this case, tap "I'll be back" and try again later. Your credits are not spent when this happens — the creation never started.
